The Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health and its community partners are delighted to be hosting our second Biennial Conference entitled Early Childhood Mental Health in Colorado:
Confident, Competent, Recognized
on February 12th and 13th 2009 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado.

The conference is focused on developing and promoting competencies for the early childhood workforce across settings, disciplines, and counties. We have an incredible program featuring national speakers and local early childhood mental health leaders. The conference will highlight Colorado programs and agencies that provide state-of-the-art services that enable competent and confident professionals to work with babies, young children, and their families.

Nearly 300 early childhood professionals participated at our first conference two years ago. In 2009, we anticipate an even greater attendance of professionals from a variety of disciplines, including mental health, public health, nursing, child care, early education, child welfare, program administration, medicine, law enforcement, and policy and public administration.

Conference Highlights:

  • Keynote Speakers: Arthur Jones, PhD and Lisa Boyce, PhD
  • Six Specialty Tracks on key early childhood mental heatlh topics (Thursday)
  • Special track on Reflective Supervision with Deborah Weatherston, PhD
  • Eight sessions featuring state-of-the-art approaches to early childhood mental health in Colorado (Friday)
  • A postconference on Parental Mental Health Issues and Infant Mental Health conducted by the Kempe Postpartum Depression Program (Friday)
  • Poster session, exhibits, and networking opportunities
  • All sessions will focus on and promote Early Childhood Mental Health Competencies
  • Certificate of Attendance with contact hours

About The Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health (CoAIMH)

The Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health (CoAIMH) is a 501.c3, nonprofit, membership organization that was founded in 2001. CoAIMH became an official affiliate of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) in 2002.

The purposes of CoAIMH are to:

  • promote education and research related to infant mental health
  • facilitate networking and cooperation among those concerned with the optimal development of infants and infant-caregiver relationships
  • promote scientifically-based programs of care, intervention, and prevention of mental impairment in infancy
  • support local and state policies that promote family and infant mental health
