Robert N. Emde, MD, Conference Scholarships Available for Students

In 2007, the Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health established a conference scholarship “to honor Dr. Robert N. Emde for the extraordinary contributions he has made, and continues to make, to the field of Infant Mental Health, and to recognize the countless ways he has enriched our lives, as a trusted teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend.”  We are pleased to announce that two scholarships will be awarded for the first time in 2009 for the Second Biennial Conference sponsored by CoAIMH.

The scholarships are intended for students:

  1. Who are currently pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree in psychology, early childhood education, social work, nursing, public policy, medicine, or a related field

    and

  2. Whose studies are committed to advancing one of the purposes for which CoAIMH was founded:
    • to promote education and research related to infant mental health
    • to facilitate networking and cooperation among those concerned with the optimal development of infants and infant-caregiver relationships
    • to promote scientifically-based programs of care, intervention and prevention of mental impairment in infancy
    • to support local and state policies that promote family and infant mental health
